The investigation into the backstage fight between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks is now over. This has essentially been confirmed with a vignette airing on AEW Dynamite confirming the return of Omega and the Bucks.

With the end of the investigation, we are now receiving new information regarding the fight, and what people on both sides are saying. This includes a new accusation that had not come to light prior to the end of the investigation.

The New Accusation

In an exclusive story with Wrestling Inc, writer Nick Hausman revealed a report stemming from someone in CM Punk's camp. According to this report, Punk's dog Larry was injured during the fight.

According to Hausman's source, the injury occurred when the door to Punk's locker room was kicked in. At a previously scheduled vet appointment following the incident, two of Larry's teeth were reportedly removed due to being knocked loose when the door hit him.

This is not the first time Punk's camp has accused The Elite of kicking in the door. However, they had previously walked that accusation back shortly after making it.

Reactions To The Story

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer wrote about the accusation in his weekly newsletter. He had spoken to sources within AEW who believed the accusation to be entirely fabricated.

"A completely made up story," one source told Meltzer. "He’s (Punk) losing (in the investigation results) and is desperate. There was a multiple weeks long investigation and this was oddly not discovered? Hmm. Also, it’s so happened to be mentioned the moment there was news about (the Bucks & Omega) possibly coming back? It’s insane that people would even humor this."

Another source accused Punk of not caring about his dog while the fight was going on. Even as AEW head of legal Megha Parekh yelled for Punk to stop while holding Larry in her arms.

"Punk didn’t even register that his `baby’ was being held by a stranger in the middle of a fight. It didn’t stop him one bit," the source said.

'A Locker Room Cancer'

Another detail regarding the fight involves the current Ring of Honor champion, Chris Jericho. According to a report from Fightful Select, Jericho approached Punk after the fight occurred and told the now-former AEW World Champion he was a cancer to the locker room.

Jericho appeared at the media scrum that kicked off the entire ordeal. He was commended for his calm and professional demeanor. Furthermore, many observant fans believed Jericho was the one who first told AEW owner Tony Khan of the fight following his portion of the media scrum.

A Big Deal Or No Deal?

Speaking of the AEW media scrum, according to Hausman's report, many in Punk's camp didn't believe Punk's conduct at the media scrum wasn't a big deal.

Punk actually singled out Hausman to begin his portion of the scrum. He attempted to use Hausman's perceived friendship with Colt Cabana to launch into a tirade against rumors that Punk tried to get Cabana fired. This fell apart once Hausman revealed he wasn't friends with Cabana.

Furthermore, Punk railed against Omega, The Young Bucks, and "Hangman" Adam Page. He openly referred to Page as an "empty-headed f**king dumbf**k" and said Omega and the Bucks, who are EVPs in AEW, "couldn't manage a Target." He ended his rant by saying that anyone with a problem could go see him.

Punk is currently out of action due to the suspension he received and an injury he suffered against Jon Moxley at All Out. It is seemingly unlikely we will see Punk in an AEW ring again as things currently stand.
