AEW has received a lot of praise over the years for taking underappreciated or unknown talents and making them stars. People like Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, MJF, Eddie Kingston, and "Hangman" Adam Page have received more shine in AEW than they were previously shown.

However, AEW has also received a lot of criticism as of late. Many people believe the show has begun to prioritize certain performers. Part of the criticism involved a comparison between former AEW World Champion CM Punk's injury announcement in June with lineal AEW Women's Champion Thunder Rosa's injury announcement.

Now, a former WWE talent has come forward with criticisms regarding one of AEW's most popular stars.

Tony Khan's 'Vision'

CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana in WWE, spoke with Busted Open Radio on Tuesday. She was asked about her husband, former TNT Champion Miro, and his booking in AEW.

"I have a lot of opinions about this. Tony Khan has a vision. At the end of the day, if it's 100% real, I think there's this illusion at AEW that the talent book the show," Perry said. "That was definitely the conversation, 'Oh you go there, you're going to basically become whatever you're made of' but at the end of the day, he's booking the show."

The Boss' Favorites

Perry continued with her line of thought, comparing the situation to her and Miro's former employer, WWE.

"It's really no different than WWE, it's just a different director and a different person's point of view. It's like comparing NBC to HBO but at the end of the day, you still have the exec who is going to make that final call and that's what it is," Perry said.

Ultimately, the former Lana said that the boss has his favorites, and those are the people that will be pushed first and foremost. That's just the nature of the business.

"Tony Khan has his favorites and he's going to push the favorites just like Vince [McMahon] would push his favorites, just like Hunter is going to push his people. It's show business, it's nothing personal, it just is what it is," she said.

'My Husband Is Incredible'

Perry heaped praise on her husband and the work he does. She also believed he was valued by McMahon and the former creative regime in WWE.

"I think my husband is incredible. I feel Vince really valued him in that way and saw that. They hit heads a lot of times towards the end on creative differences. Vince really wanted him as a villain and Miro wanted to explore this new world," she said.

Championship Desires

At the end of the day, Miro wants one thing according to his wife. And it's a return to the days of him with gold around his waist.

"I mean, he wants to be champion so he's not going to be happy until he's champion," she responded. "I'm just going to leave it at that."

The Redeemer's last match on AEW television came at All Out when he teamed with Sting and Darby Allin to defeat the House of Black. His TNT Championship reign is the second longest in the title's history, falling short of Allin's 186-day reign by 46 days.
